COLLABORATIVE CREATION FOR PERFORMANCE

This class will work together to create a piece of living art that will be presented to the public. Students will use simple and fun exercises to tell stories they would like to hear and share. Each participant will contribute as he or she wishes. We will explore performance in class through traditional method work, story telling, mask work, audio and video recorded pieces. The performance work will be enhanced through visual arts, crafts and possibly short films. Everyone will work to the best of their ability. Dedication to creating new work and to the group is required. For the original thinker! Connie Crawford has performed everywhere from Broadway to Texas bars and even in the bathroom of a tour bus. She graduated from the Juilliard School’s acting program, studied with Bobby Lewis, Uta Hagen and The Groundlings. Connie has acted, directed and written for the stage in NYC. Currently, she teaches at Brown University.

Connie Crawford's
Ensemble Creation Workshop

Without the safety net of a script, the actor’s strengths and weaknesses are starkly defined. In this course, the player will activate the intuition, tune into the scene partner, and strengthen focus on intention and obstacle. The player will also have a lot of fun. This course is constructed of exercises, games, improvised scenes, and an improvisational approach to written scenes. Some work outside of class is required. Please come prepared to move.

Connie Crawford has done theatre everywhere from Broadway to Texas bars and even in the bathroom of a tour bus. She graduated from the Julliard School's acting program, studied with Bobby Lewis, Uta Hagen and The Groundlings. Connie has acted, directed and written for the stage in NYC. Currently, she teaches at Brown University.
